Description of the issue

More of a question for @asgerf - my apologies if this is an imposition/annoying, feel free to let me know! I'm publishing a book with some CodeQL examples that use the old JS Dataflow / Taint Tracking API. I understand the new API is currently in development on js/shared-dataflow-branch and seems to be close to completion. I'd like to update the examples to use the new API, but that depends on the API being available in a release. Are there plans for when the new API will be available? Thank you and I appreciate your time!

Can't speak for when exactly stuff will happen, but today at least a PR targeting main has been created:

Btw, if you want to have an additional set of eyes on your book/CodeQL examples, drop me an email at codeql-25@intrigus.org. I've given a few workshops on CodeQL and written many queries that have become official queries.

Exciting to hear about the book!

We're expecting the dataflow migration to be included in the next release; although please note that we cannot make any hard guarantees at this moment. In any case, it's probably a good idea to update queries to use the new interface. You may find some useful info in this migration guide (until it goes live, the guide is only available in .rst format).

Awesome, thanks @asgerf. I'll update queries as it seems there'll be time when the release will go out before the book goes to print, as I'd like the users to have an official release they can use the queries with.
