In executorlib, if the submission script supports the entry job_name, as give in the example:

Then this is set by the following lines:

We are using the working directory name based on the assumption that the users primarily care about the number of jobs for a given project which are still waiting in the queue. This could be changed to use the specific hash of the job:
pyiron/executorlib#985
Then, if you overwrite the name using the cache_key this should also be represented on the queuing system. Is this what you are looking for?

thanks a lot @jan-janssen , and sorry for the noise - this issue was meant as a "note to self" for the convenience feature. As you point out it's clearly doable
