What is Hack SP?

Hack SP (hacksp.org) is a project developed by high school students dedicated to providing incredible hackathon experiences for teenagers in São Paulo.

What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is an intensive and collaborative event where participants from different areas work in teams to develop innovative solutions within a limited period of time. Its goal is to stimulate creativity, experimentation, and rapid prototyping, resulting in projects that respond to challenges proposed by the event's organizers.

Hack SP is fiscally sponsored by Hack Club, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that encourages over 100,000 teenagers around the world to code through a network of clubs and programming events. You can view our public finances at: https://hcb.hackclub.com/hack-sp/transactions.

Being a non-profit initiative clearly demonstrates our commitment to keeping Hack SP free and open-source for everyone. This paves the way for a sustainable development model that goes beyond personal participation. It also offers important legal protections and guarantees for those who adopt and use Hack SP.

Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire the next generation of creators by introducing them to project development, such as apps, websites, and games, in a fun and collaborative environment.

Participants will work in teams to build projects and develop their skills in creativity, collaboration, and innovation. Hack SP aligns with Hack Club's vision: hacking means solving problems, innovating, and forming lasting friendships that extend beyond events. Hackathons allow more teenagers to discover the joy we have in coding. Our events give people the opportunity to learn to code for the first time in a safe environment.

The magic of hackathons is being able to be inspired by peers who are also innovating and building cool projects, even after the event. Furthermore, making friends and building a community are among the most important parts of hackathons like those of Hack SP.

Our goal is to run at least 10 hackathons for teenagers in 2026, with at least 3 outside of São Paulo in a project we call Hack BR. Hackathons have changed our lives, and we want to change others'.

By supporting us, you help us promote our mission. We cannot hold these events without you, and we would welcome any support.

What we have done in the past

Hack SP has already organized:

  • Daydream São Paulo, at the Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science at the University of São Paulo (IME-USP).

  • DRX, a hackathon in partnership with Dr. Consulta.

Consulta.
