Got this warning on my console

stabilityai/stable-diffusion-2-1-base is missing diffusion_pytorch_model.fp16.bin

Was asked to raise this issue, can you please upload the necessary checkpoints in the hugging face repo?

Which folder are you referring to?

I checked both these folders have diffusion_pytorch_model.fp16.bin

Hi, you were asked by that repo maintainers? That repo hasn't been updated with something real from 2023 and probably used a really old version of diffusers which doesn't have in the requirements.

Anyway, with the current diffusers version and this code to load the model:

import torch

from diffusers import StableDiffusionPipeline


pipe = StableDiffusionPipeline.from_pretrained(
    "stabilityai/stable-diffusion-2-1-base", torch_dtype=torch.float16, variant="fp16"
).to("cuda")

it works without a problem, so you'll need to open the issue in that repository and also, just in case, we don't own the model, that model is from Stablity AI, so if you want them to make a change in the repo, you should also ask there and not here.

Please feel free to open a new issue if you have any problem with just plain diffusers but sadly we can't answer or do support to external libraries.

Thank you for your reply and yeah that makes sense its possibly because of old diffusers version. I thought of opening this issue because I felt even with older diffusers version it would probably be backward compatible as its fetching model variants/lists from a remote server like hugging-face, but maybe due to some changes its not and hence getting that console output. Anyways no worries, I'm closing this issue.

that's the problem. if it used an older diffusers version it should be pinned in the requirements.txt file which it doesn't have, so when you install it, it will always fetch the latest diffusers version and as I showed you, with the latest version and the basic code for loading models, it works, so probably the error is something they hardcoded in their code which we can't fix or give support for obvious reasons.

So just to be clear, diffusers and the hugging face hub are almost always backwards compatible but people need to use the correct versions in the repositories.
