Patrick Lacey

Curriculum Coordinator and Instructor at CanCode Communities, where I teach and develop content for Python 1, AI Essentials, and Cybersecurity Essentials courses. I previously built JUCE audio plugins in C++, and I now primarily work in Python building practical AI-focused applications.

I am especially interested in accessible tech education, music technology, and tools that make complex systems more useful in the real world.

About Me

I work at the intersection of education, software development, and applied AI. My current focus is designing learning experiences, teaching technical foundations clearly, and building Python-based AI applications that solve practical problems.

My background in JUCE and C++ gave me a strong foundation in audio software and creative tooling. That experience still shapes how I think about product design, technical systems, and building tools that feel both capable and usable.

Current Focus

  • Leading curriculum and instruction at CanCode Communities
  • Teaching Python, AI, and cybersecurity in an accessible, community-centered way
  • Building practical AI tools and applications in Python
  • Exploring the overlap between AI, education, cybersecurity, and creative technology

Interests

  • Practical AI applications and intelligent workflows
  • Accessible technical education and curriculum design
  • Music technology, creative coding, and audio software
  • Python development for real-world tools and experiments
