Summary

This PR adds automated testing and build verification via GitHub Actions, and updates documentation to reflect current build sizes.

Key Changes

  • Added GitHub Actions workflow (.github/workflows/test.yml):

    • Runs on every push to main and all pull requests
    • Executes full test suite with npm run test:all
    • Verifies that built artifacts in dist/ are up-to-date by rebuilding and checking for uncommitted changes
    • Ensures developers don't accidentally push source changes without rebuilding distribution files
  • Updated build size documentation:

    • dist/tinywebgpu.min.js: 15.7 KB → 15.5 KB (7.7 KB → 7.4 KB gzipped)
    • dist/tinywebgpu.tiny.js: 8.8 KB → 8.5 KB (4.6 KB → 4.5 KB gzipped)
    • Updated references across README.md and docs/API.md to reflect current minified build sizes

Implementation Details

The CI workflow acts as a safeguard against a common issue: source code changes being committed without rebuilding the distribution artifacts. By running npm run build and checking git diff --exit-code -- dist/, the workflow ensures the committed dist/ files always match the current source code.

https://claude.ai/code/session_015piLaxMdBsDLcyHRLSzKWK

README and docs/API.md still quoted the pre-terser-pass sizes (15.7/8.8 KB);
the artifacts are 15.5 KB (7.4 gz) and 8.5 KB (4.5 gz) now.
The new workflow runs the full test matrix (source, min, tiny, renamed
builds) on pushes and pull requests, and fails if dist/ was not rebuilt
after a change to src/ or tools/.

Summary

This PR adds automated testing and build verification via GitHub Actions, and updates documentation to reflect current build sizes.

Key Changes

  • Added GitHub Actions workflow (.github/workflows/test.yml):

    • Runs on every push to main and all pull requests
    • Executes full test suite with npm run test:all
    • Verifies that built artifacts in dist/ are up-to-date by rebuilding and checking for uncommitted changes
    • Ensures developers don't accidentally push source changes without rebuilding distribution files
  • Updated build size documentation:

    • dist/tinywebgpu.min.js: 15.7 KB → 15.5 KB (7.7 KB → 7.4 KB gzipped)
    • dist/tinywebgpu.tiny.js: 8.8 KB → 8.5 KB (4.6 KB → 4.5 KB gzipped)
    • Updated references across README.md and docs/API.md to reflect current minified build sizes

Implementation Details

The CI workflow acts as a safeguard against a common issue: source code changes being committed without rebuilding the distribution artifacts. By running npm run build and checking git diff --exit-code -- dist/, the workflow ensures the committed dist/ files always match the current source code.

README and docs/API.md still quoted the pre-terser-pass sizes (15.7/8.8 KB);
the artifacts are 15.5 KB (7.4 gz) and 8.5 KB (4.5 gz) now.
The new workflow runs the full test matrix (source, min, tiny, renamed
builds) on pushes and pull requests, and fails if dist/ was not rebuilt
after a change to src/ or tools/.
