uPlot much slower in macOS Big Sur than Linux / macOS Mojave

Running some uPlot benchmarks, I noticed significant performance delta between Chrome 88 in macOS Big Sur and Chrome 87 in Linux Mint 20 or macOS Mojave.

Here are the scenarios and the times in ms:

Do you have any idea why this might be the case?

It worths mentioning that ECharts/SVG does not suffer from this performance impact.

interesting! certainly seems like either a platform or chrome bug if it affects both libs. maybe try opening a chrome bug report with details and let them investigate. unfortunately, i won't be much use here.

would be curious to see Firefox and Safari numbers on the same machines.

I believe it is OS related. Even Safari (which I guess gets full access to the hardware) suffers at the 4th scenario (100 graphs / 10 curves / 1K points)
