Summary

Adds a Payout timing section to the Payouts & B2B Sending Payments page, giving
integrators a single place to look up how long a payout takes by rail — the question support
and account teams field most often when setting merchant expectations.

The section sits between the transaction-statuses table and Checking Payment Status — right
after the reader learns what the statuses mean, and right before they wire up webhooks to
watch for them.

Changes: 1 file

  • mintlify/payouts-and-b2b/payment-flow/send-payment.mdx — new ## Payout timing section: a
timing-by-rail table plus an <Info> callout on banking hours, receiving-institution
    dependence, and compliance review.

Notes on the content:

  • Instant is annotated (seconds) — "instant" is relative across these rails.
  • Bitcoin is listed as Bitcoin L1 at ~10 min – 1 hour, since confirmation time moves with
    network congestion.
  • The callout separates the instant rails (RTP, FedNow et al. run continuously, weekends and
holidays included) from the slower bank rails that observe cutoffs.

One thing to confirm

The table times NEFT at ~1 day, but mintlify/snippets/external-accounts.mdx:412 already
describes NEFT as "near-real-time" (it clears in half-hourly batches). Both can be true if the
end-to-end NEFT payout time is dominated by something other than the rail itself — but the two
pages now read as contradictory. Happy to retime NEFT here, or soften the wording in the India
section, whichever matches reality.

Test plan

  • MDX compiles clean via @mdx-js/mdx + remark-gfm.
  • Section rendered locally to verify the table and callout lay out correctly.
  • Reviewed for factual consistency with the existing rail documentation; the NEFT discrepancy
above is the one open question.

Public

Documents typical payout settlement times by payment rail on the Sending Payments guide.

Greptile Summary

Adds a payout-timing reference to the Sending Payments guide, grouping typical settlement times by rail and clarifying the effects of banking schedules, receiving institutions, and compliance reviews.

  • Introduces timing ranges measured from quote execution.
  • Distinguishes continuously operating instant rails from slower bank rails.
  • Adds caveats that the published times are typical rather than guaranteed.

Confidence Score: 5/5

The documentation change appears safe to merge, with the explicitly acknowledged NEFT timing discrepancy left for the author to resolve.

No unacknowledged blocking or independently actionable issue remains in the changed documentation.
