KVM/arm64 fixes for 6.14, take #3
- Fix TCR_EL2 configuration to not use the ASID in TTBR1_EL2
and not mess-up T1SZ/PS by using the HCR_EL2.E2H==0 layout.
- Bring back the VMID allocation to the vcpu_load phase, ensuring
that we only setup VTTBR_EL2 once on VHE. This cures an ugly
race that would lead to running with an unallocated VMID.

If the PHY driver uses another PHY internally (e.g. in case of eUSB2,
repeaters are represented as PHYs), then it would trigger the following
lockdep splat because all PHYs use a single static lockdep key and thus
lockdep can not identify whether there is a dependency or not and
reports a false positive.
Make PHY subsystem use dynamic lockdep keys, assigning each driver a
separate key. This way lockdep can correctly identify dependency graph
between mutexes.

The warning is seen majorly on the host kernels that are configured
not to force-preempt, such as CONFIG_PREEMPT_NONE=y. To avoid this,
instead of walking the entire page-table in one go, split it into
smaller ranges, by checking for cond_resched() between each range.
Since the path is executed during VM destruction, after the
page-table structure is unlinked from the KVM MMU, relying on
cond_resched_rwlock_write() isn't necessary.

When the "proxy" option is enabled on a VXLAN device, the device will
suppress ARP requests and IPv6 Neighbor Solicitation messages if it is
able to reply on behalf of the remote host. That is, if a matching and
valid neighbor entry is configured on the VXLAN device whose MAC address
is not behind the "any" remote (0.0.0.0 / ::).
The code currently assumes that the FDB entry for the neighbor's MAC
address points to a valid remote destination, but this is incorrect if
the entry is associated with an FDB nexthop group. This can result in a
NPD [1][3] which can be reproduced using [2][4].
Fix by checking that the remote destination exists before dereferencing
it.

Ido Schimmel says:
====================
vxlan: Fix NPDs when using nexthop objects
With FDB nexthop groups, VXLAN FDB entries do not necessarily point to
a remote destination but rather to an FDB nexthop group. This means that
first_remote_{rcu,rtnl}() can return NULL and a few places in the driver
were not ready for that, resulting in NULL pointer dereferences.
Patches #1-#2 fix these NPDs.
Note that vxlan_fdb_find_uc() still dereferences the remote returned by
first_remote_rcu() without checking that it is not NULL, but this
function is only invoked by a single driver which vetoes the creation of
FDB nexthop groups. I will patch this in net-next to make the code less
fragile.
Patch #3 adds a selftests which exercises these code paths and tests
basic Tx functionality with FDB nexthop groups. I verified that the test
crashes the kernel without the first two patches.

The GPIO controller is configured as non-sleeping but it uses generic
pinctrl helpers which use a mutex for synchronization.
This can cause the following lockdep splat with shared GPIOs enabled on
boards which have multiple devices using the same GPIO:

this is a pull request of 4 patches for net/main, it super-seeds the
"can 2026-01-14" pull request. The dev refcount leak in patch #3 is
fixed.
The first 3 patches are by Oliver Hartkopp and revert the approach to
instantly reject unsupported CAN frames introduced in
net-next-for-v6.19 and replace it by placing the needed data into the
CAN specific ml_priv.
The last patch is by Tetsuo Handa and fixes a J1939 refcount leak for
j1939_session in session deactivation upon receiving the second RTS.

The current cpuset partition code is able to dynamically update
the sched domains of a running system and the corresponding
HK_TYPE_DOMAIN housekeeping cpumask to perform what is essentially the
"isolcpus=domain,..." boot command line feature at run time.
The housekeeping cpumask update requires flushing a number of different
workqueues which may not be safe with cpus_read_lock() held as the
workqueue flushing code may acquire cpus_read_lock() or acquiring locks
which have locking dependency with cpus_read_lock() down the chain. Below
is an example of such circular locking problem.

To avoid such a circular locking dependency problem, we have to
call housekeeping_update() without holding the cpus_read_lock() and
cpuset_mutex. The current set of wq's flushed by housekeeping_update()
may not have work functions that call cpus_read_lock() directly,
but we are likely to extend the list of wq's that are flushed in the
future. Moreover, the current set of work functions may hold locks that
may have cpu_hotplug_lock down the dependency chain.
So housekeeping_update() is now called after releasing cpus_read_lock
and cpuset_mutex at the end of a cpuset operation. These two locks are
then re-acquired later before calling rebuild_sched_domains_locked().
To enable mutual exclusion between the housekeeping_update() call and
other cpuset control file write actions, a new top level cpuset_top_mutex
is introduced. This new mutex will be acquired first to allow sharing
variables used by both code paths. However, cpuset update from CPU
hotplug can still happen in parallel with the housekeeping_update()
call, though that should be rare in production environment.
As cpus_read_lock() is now no longer held when
tmigr_isolated_exclude_cpumask() is called, it needs to acquire it
directly.
The lockdep_is_cpuset_held() is also updated to return true if either
cpuset_top_mutex or cpuset_mutex is held.

ctnetlink_dump_exp_ct() stores a conntrack pointer in cb->data for the
netlink dump callback ctnetlink_exp_ct_dump_table(), but drops the
conntrack reference immediately after netlink_dump_start(). When the
dump spans multiple rounds, the second recvmsg() triggers the dump
callback which dereferences the now-freed conntrack via nfct_help(ct),
leading to a use-after-free on ct->ext.
The bug is that the netlink_dump_control has no .start or .done
callbacks to manage the conntrack reference across dump rounds. Other
dump functions in the same file (e.g. ctnetlink_get_conntrack) properly
use .start/.done callbacks for this purpose.
Fix this by adding .start and .done callbacks that hold and release the
conntrack reference for the duration of the dump, and move the
nfct_help() call after the cb->args[0] early-return check in the dump
callback to avoid dereferencing ct->ext unnecessarily.

The devm_free_irq() and devm_request_irq() functions should not be
executed in an atomic context.
During device suspend, all userspace processes and most kernel threads
are frozen. Additionally, we flush all tx/rx status, disable all macb
interrupts, and halt rx operations. Therefore, it is safe to split the
region protected by bp->lock into two independent sections, allowing
devm_free_irq() and devm_request_irq() to run in a non-atomic context.
This modification resolves the following lockdep warning:

Access to net_device::ip_ptr and its associated members must be
protected by an RCU lock. Since we are modifying this piece of code,
let's also move it to execute only when WAKE_ARP is enabled.
To minimize the duration of the RCU lock, a local variable is used to
temporarily store the IP address. This change resolves the following

syzbot reports for sleeping function called from invalid context [1].
The recently added code for resizable hash tables uses
hlist_bl bit locks in combination with spin_lock for
the connection fields (cp->lock).
Fix the following problems:
* avoid using spin_lock(&cp->lock) under locked bit lock
because it sleeps on PREEMPT_RT
* as the recent changes call ip_vs_conn_hash() only for newly
allocated connection, the spin_lock can be removed there because
the connection is still not linked to table and does not need
cp->lock protection.
* the lock can be removed also from ip_vs_conn_unlink() where we
are the last connection user.
* the last place that is fixed is ip_vs_conn_fill_cport()
where now the cp->lock is locked before the other locks to
ensure other packets do not modify the cp->flags in non-atomic
way. Here we make sure cport and flags are changed only once
if two or more packets race to fill the cport. Also, we fill
cport early, so that if we race with resizing there will be
valid cport key for the hashing. Add a warning if too many
hash table changes occur for our RCU read-side critical
section which is error condition but minor because the
connection still can expire gracefully. Still, restore the
cport to 0 to allow retransmitted packet to properly fill
the cport. Problems reported by Sashiko.

Commit d93231a ("ceph: prevent a client from exceeding the MDS
maximum xattr size") moved the required_blob_size computation to before
the __build_xattrs() call, introducing a race.
__build_xattrs() releases and reacquires i_ceph_lock during execution.
In that window, handle_cap_grant() may update i_xattrs.blob with a
newer MDS-provided blob and bump i_xattrs.version. When
__build_xattrs() detects that index_version < version, it destroys and
rebuilds the entire xattr rb-tree from the new blob, potentially
increasing count, names_size, and vals_size.
The prealloc_blob size check that follows still uses the stale
required_blob_size computed before the rebuild, so it passes even when
prealloc_blob is too small for the now-larger tree. After __set_xattr()
adds one more xattr on top, __ceph_build_xattrs_blob() is called from
the cap flush path and hits:
BUG_ON(need > ci->i_xattrs.prealloc_blob->alloc_len);
Fix this by recomputing required_blob_size after __build_xattrs()
returns, using the current tree state. Also re-validate against
m_max_xattr_size to fall back to the sync path if the rebuilt tree now
exceeds the MDS limit.

Since the start of the git history, brport_store() always acquired the
bridge lock. Back then this decision made sense: The bridge lock
protects the STP state of the bridge and its ports and at that time the
function was only used by two STP related attributes (cost and
priority).
Nowadays, brport_store() processes a lot more attributes and most of
them do not need the bridge lock:
* Bridge flags: Only require RTNL. Read locklessly by the data path.
Annotations can be added in net-next.
* FDB port flushing: Only requires the FDB lock.
* Multicast attributes: Only require the multicast lock.
* Group forward mask: Only requires RTNL. Read locklessly by the data
path. Annotations can be added in net-next.
* Backup port: Only requires RTNL. Read locklessly by the data path.
This is a problem as the bridge calls dev_set_promiscuity() when certain
bridge port flags change and this function can sleep since the commit
cited below, resulting in a splat such as [1].
Fix this by reducing the scope of the bridge lock and only take it when
processing the two STP related attributes that require it. Remove the
now stale comment from br_switchdev_set_port_flag(). The
SWITCHDEV_F_DEFER flag can be removed in net-next.

bridge: Fix sleep in atomic context
Under certain circumstances the bridge driver can call
dev_set_promiscuity() while holding the bridge spin lock. This is a
problem as dev_set_promiscuity() might sleep.
Patches #1-#2 fix the problem in the netlink and sysfs configuration
paths by only taking the lock where it is actually needed, thereby
avoiding calling dev_set_promiscuity() from an atomic context.
Patch #3 adds test cases for both configuration paths in rtnetlink.sh
which already includes test cases for similar issues.
Note that dev_set_promiscuity() can sleep either when it takes the net
device mutex or when calling netif_rx_mode_sync(). I encountered the
problem with the latter, but blamed the former since it came earlier.

The Sennheiser MOMENTUM 3 is a wireless around-ear headphones featuring
ANC, which can be connected via Bluetooth or USB-C.
When connecting via USB-C, its UAC mixer works fine and precisely
corresponds to the reported dB range. However, the mixer's volume
GET_CUR method is somehow stubbed and returns a constant value (15dB).
Since commit 86aa1ea ("ALSA: usb-audio: Do not expose sticky
mixers"), the sticky check considers the mixer to be sticky and
unnecessarily disables the mixer.
Add a quirk table entry matching VID/PID=0x1377/0x6004 and applying
the MIXER_GET_CUR_BROKEN quirk flag, so that the mixer is usable again.

Richard Fitzgerald <rf@opensource.cirrus.com> says:
These are for-next.
They are not urgent because it only leaks memory if the driver failed to
component_probe or is removed, which wouldn't happen in normal use.
This series fixes some memory leaks:
- The memory allocated by wm_adsp/cs_dsp was not freed.
- If component_probe() failed it didn't clean up.
The addition of this cleanup in patch #3 exposes an existing possible
double-free of the debugfs, which is fixed in patch #2.
