…sue #202) (#206) PlaybackController.loadMedia() (used by play()/restoreLastPlayingItem()) fetches the new episode's chapters, but PlaybackService's own backgrounded auto-advance (issue #179, used for both a naturally finished episode and, since issue #201, one that errored out) changes the player's current item directly, bypassing loadMedia entirely. PlaybackController's player listener already detects that kind of out-of-band transition (issue #179's currentItemId/currentFeedId sync), but never refetched chapters for it, so currentChapters kept showing whatever the previous episode had (or nothing) for every episode Next Up advanced into on its own -- in practice most of them, since listening straight through a queue is the app's main mode of use. Reads as "chapter navigation is no longer available" once a session's gone through even one auto-advance. Player listener's onEvents now clears and refetches chapters on any detected item change, the same way loadMedia already does, via a new loadChaptersById() that looks the item up first since (unlike loadMedia's caller) there's no FeedItem in hand for this path. No new unit test: exercising this requires a live MediaController/ Player.Listener callback, which needs a connected MediaSessionService -- the existing PlaybackControllerTest suite only ever exercises the no-active-playback paths for exactly that reason. Verified manually: app builds, installs, and launches without a crash on-device.
