Economic models and measurement: I am interested in the theory of the empirical methods applied microeconomists use: identification, robustness, and diagnostics for demand, production, and the measurement of market power, so that the estimates carrying a counterfactual into a public decision can be trusted.

So far I have written one paper: my master's thesis.
Markups and Public Procurement: Evidence from Czech Construction Tenders. First Place, Young Economist of the Year Award, Czech Economic Society (2025). Firms charge markups roughly 15% higher in years they hold government contracts; the premium fell from about 30% in 2006 to 10% in 2021. [paper][code][talk]
I contributed my thesis's replication package to the Applied Economics Incubator's collection of production-function replication packages (University of Chicago, 2026).
