LookSafe Web | Edge AI Fatigue Detection

LookSafe Web is a simple, privacy-focused web application that detects if a driver is falling asleep. It uses your webcam and artificial intelligence to check your eyes. Everything works inside your browser, meaning your video is never sent to any server.

The app uses a simple math formula called the Eye Aspect Ratio (EAR).

The AI places invisible tracking dots around your eyes. It constantly measures the distance between your upper and lower eyelids. When you blink normally, the distance drops and comes right back. But if the distance stays at zero for a longer time (meaning your eyes are closed), the app understands you are falling asleep and triggers a "Wake Up" warning.

💻 How to Run Locally

It is very easy to run this project on your own computer. You don't need to install heavy software.

Clone this repository to your computer:

git clone [https://github.com/yourusername/drivesafe-web.git](https://github.com/yourusername/drivesafe-web.git)
Open the folder:
cd drivesafe-web
Start a local server. You can use the "Live Server" extension in VS Code, or use Python in your terminal:
python -m http.server 8000
Open your web browser and go to http://localhost:8000.
(Note: Modern web browsers require a local server or an HTTPS connection to allow camera access. You cannot just double-click the HTML file).

LookSafe Web | Edge AI Fatigue Detection

LookSafe Web is a simple, privacy-focused web application that detects if a driver is falling asleep. It uses your webcam and artificial intelligence to check your eyes. Everything works inside your browser, meaning your video is never sent to any server.

🧠 How It Works

The app uses a simple math formula called the Eye Aspect Ratio (EAR).

The AI places invisible tracking dots around your eyes. It constantly measures the distance between your upper and lower eyelids. When you blink normally, the distance drops and comes right back. But if the distance stays at zero for a longer time (meaning your eyes are closed), the app understands you are falling asleep and triggers a "Wake Up" warning.

💻 How to Run Locally

It is very easy to run this project on your own computer. You don't need to install heavy software.

Clone this repository to your computer:

git clone [https://github.com/yourusername/drivesafe-web.git](https://github.com/yourusername/drivesafe-web.git)
Open the folder:
cd drivesafe-web
Start a local server. You can use the "Live Server" extension in VS Code, or use Python in your terminal:
python -m http.server 8000
Open your web browser and go to http://localhost:8000.
(Note: Modern web browsers require a local server or an HTTPS connection to allow camera access. You cannot just double-click the HTML file).

LookSafe is a lightweight, privacy-focused web application designed to detect driver fatigue and micro-sleep in real-time. By leveraging Edge AI, the entire facial recognition and sleep-detection algorithm runs locally inside the browser. No video frames or personal data are ever uploaded to a server.
