Modification
We propose changing the license notices throughout PyCurator from the GNU LGPL under copyright to Michael Baluja to a modified BSD license under copyright to The Regents of The University of California. Additionally, full licensing notice will be applied across all project files.
Motivation
The proposed copyright change is raised in order to fulfill the obligations under which this project has been funded and initially developed. Additionally, the license change from LGPL to BSD allows greater flexibility for the reuse, distribution, and modification of PyCurator. We would like the project to provide the greatest benefit to the greatest number of people, and the LGPL does not align with our goals.
