Closes#1075.

Motivation and Context

The compatibility parser ignores unknown notifications after deserialization fails. Because the registry was still based on MCP 2025-06-18, a malformed notifications/subscriptions/acknowledged message could be mistaken for an unrelated notification and silently discarded. This change recognizes the current discovery, subscription, and elicitation methods so parse failures surface correctly.

How Has This Been Tested?

cargo test -p rmcp --lib transport::async_rw::test

Breaking Changes

None. Existing legacy method names remain recognized.

Types of changes

  • Bug fix (non-breaking change which fixes an issue)
  • New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality)
  • Breaking change (fix or feature that would cause existing functionality to change)
  • Documentation update

Checklist

  • I have read the MCP Documentation
  • My code follows the repository's style guidelines
  • New and existing tests pass locally
  • I have added appropriate error handling
  • I have added or updated documentation as needed

Checklist
