mtiluk/README.md

Hi, I'm Michael!
I'm a Computer Science graduate and research assistant from United Kingdom.
My current research interests centre on privacy redesigns of common systems, secure cloud and networks engineering, and embedded and IoT.

Currently focused on building projects and researching, attempting to increase my knowledge and understanding of distributed systems and networking.

Looking for my next thing. Come say hi!

Projects

  • Potok — A self-hosted Obsidian cross-device file syncer.
  • Vestnik — A terminal-based RSS feed aggregator built with Bubble Tea and Lip Gloss.
  • Zadacha - An open-source research implementation of a Distributed Job Queue using Go and Redis.
  • soko - Real-time flight tracker and radar for RGB LED Matrix Panels.

Thoughts

I occasionally write blogs on mtil.uk:

  • I Bought a Matrix PanelAug 2026
This blog explores whether TheFlightWall, an LED matrix display showing live aircraft data, can be recreated affordably with parts from AliExpress. I'll break…
  • Improving This Site's SEOJul 2026
This blog will briefly explore how I plan to improve this site's SEO. It will also give you example code snippets and guidelines to help you improve your own…
  • Self-Updating ReadmeJul 2026
A guide on how I implemented a self-updating GitHub readme using an RSS feed and GitHub actions to display my most recent blog posts.

Looking for my next thing. Come say hi!
