nagendramohan/README.md

Hi, I'm Nagendra Mohan 👋

Software Engineer with 13 years of experience building distributed systems at scale.

Currently at Amazon, designing multi-region services and driving large-scale system migrations. Previously at IBM Labs, building CI/CD infrastructure for enterprise platforms.

What I work on

  • Distributed Systems — Multi-region services with sub-second latency, state-machine workflows, cross-partition data delivery
  • Large-Scale Migrations — Migrated 8 major versions of a search engine (50+ components) while maintaining zero-downtime capability
  • Infrastructure as Code — CDK/CloudFormation for multi-region ECS deployments, cross-account IAM, DNS delegation
  • Developer Tooling — Release automation, operational dashboards, AI-powered oncall tooling

Tech Stack

Languages: Java · Python · TypeScript · Shell
Cloud: AWS (ECS, DynamoDB, SQS, S3, Lambda, IAM, CDK, CloudWatch)
Systems: Elasticsearch/OpenSearch · Multi-region architecture · State machines
Infra: CDK · CI/CD pipelines · Containerization · Multi-arch builds (x86/ARM)

Open Source Contributions

Recent contributions to widely-used projects:

  • uutils/coreutils (Rust reimplementation of GNU coreutils) — bug fixes to printf and cp (#14075, #14076)
  • OpenSearchDiskThresholdMonitor read-block auto-release (#22610)
  • is-it-fixable — a CLI I built and published to npm that scores how "fixable" an open GitHub issue is (rubric-based, TypeScript)

Interested in: distributed-systems reliability, the OpenSearch/coreutils ecosystems, and developer tooling.

What I'm exploring

  • System design for real-time computation at global scale
  • Shadow testing frameworks for safe production migrations
  • AI-powered developer experience tooling

  • AI-powered developer experience tooling

nagendramohan/README.md

Hi, I'm Nagendra Mohan 👋

Software Engineer with 13 years of experience building distributed systems at scale.

Currently at Amazon, designing multi-region services and driving large-scale system migrations. Previously at IBM Labs, building CI/CD infrastructure for enterprise platforms.

What I work on

  • Distributed Systems — Multi-region services with sub-second latency, state-machine workflows, cross-partition data delivery
  • Large-Scale Migrations — Migrated 8 major versions of a search engine (50+ components) while maintaining zero-downtime capability
  • Infrastructure as Code — CDK/CloudFormation for multi-region ECS deployments, cross-account IAM, DNS delegation
  • Developer Tooling — Release automation, operational dashboards, AI-powered oncall tooling
