I'm getting a lot of "exit handler never called" and installation hanging in 10.8.2 where npx npm@10.8.1 works fine (on node v22.5.0). I'm not sure how to reproduce it, but https://github.com/ljharb/coauthors/actions/runs/9981663313/job/27585794621 is an example that's failing.
