What steps can reproduce the bug?

I can't log in via codex cli aut link.
I have a personal Pro plan linked to my institutional email address, but this is not a Teams or institutional account.
So I do not get the option to pick the personal account.

What is the expected behavior?

I should be able to log in and use my pro plan

What do you see instead?

It takes me to my institutional login page. When I log in there, it breaks because that is the wrong account.

Same issue here. I have a personal ChatGPT Pro account that uses my university email (@uw.edu), but it’s not part of any Enterprise/Edu/Team org. I can sign in to chatgpt.com and platform.openai.com without problems. However, when I run codex login, the OAuth flow (“Sign in with ChatGPT”) always forces an SSO redirect to my university IdP and then fails with:

“You are not authorized to access the application: ChatGPT Edu.”

There’s no option to pick my personal account.

Expected: Authenticate with my personal ChatGPT account and use Pro with Codex CLI.
Actual: Hard redirect to institutional SSO based on the email domain; login fails.

Tried: Clearing ~/.codex/auth.json, different browsers/incognito, resetting the CLI. API-key mode works, but it doesn’t attach Pro benefits. Any guidance or a way to bypass SSO for this flow would be appreciated.

Same issue.
We have 2 workspace with same domain @work.com, 1 enterprise workspace with SSO and 1 business workspace (not SSO).
Now I can not login to codex with my business workspace for ANY account of @work.com
All @work.com login being redirected to SSO page, which is NOT what we want.

This only happen for codex. ChatGPT web login works just fine.

I have added a way to maintain multiple accounts without logging out and logging in again and again. You can have a look at here #4457
