Review purpose

This is the requested non-mergeable extraction rehearsal. Review it commit-by-commit; the final tree keeps both clients intact.

  1. refactor: remove Discord and VS Code clients from fork trunk
  2. feat(discord): introduce the Discord integration overlay
  3. feat(vscode): introduce the VS Code integration overlay
  4. chore: route client changes through owned overlays

Complete extraction boundaries

  • Discord introduction includes apps/discord-bot/**, its workspace/lockfile wiring, integration docs, browser-automation docs, and project-alias example.
  • VS Code introduction includes apps/vscode/**, its workspace/lockfile wiring, and .vscode/launch.json.
  • Shared deployment classification remains in fork/changes because it routes every component.
  • Host-specific builds, VSIX fleet installation, service restarts, credentials, and artifact publication remain private in aaaomega/ops; they consume the composed and tested integration SHA and do not belong in public client overlays.

What commit 4 prepares

  • machine-readable path ownership for desktop links, Discord, and VS Code
  • pnpm fork:overlay-owner <paths...> target-selection helper
  • agent instructions to check overlay ownership before targeting fork/changes
  • documented mixed shared/client changes and product/ops delivery boundaries

Discord and VS Code use pullRequest: null during this rehearsal. After approval, the cutover will create real draft overlay PRs, register their PR numbers in both ownership and .github/pr-stack.json, and land only the removal/policy changes in fork/changes.

Verification

  • final client sources, client-specific documentation/settings, and lockfile are byte-identical to current fork/changes
  • ownership helper tests passed before this documentation-only boundary clarification
  • exactly four commits above fork/changes

Cutover completed through #75, #76, and #81. Durable managed overlays are now #80 (Discord) and #79 (VS Code); fork/integration reconstructs the approved client trees exactly.

Review purpose

This is the requested non-mergeable extraction rehearsal. Review it commit-by-commit; the final tree keeps both clients intact.

  1. refactor: remove Discord and VS Code clients from fork trunk
  2. feat(discord): introduce the Discord integration overlay
  3. feat(vscode): introduce the VS Code integration overlay
  4. chore: route client changes through owned overlays

Complete extraction boundaries

  • Discord introduction includes apps/discord-bot/**, its workspace/lockfile wiring, integration docs, browser-automation docs, and project-alias example.
  • VS Code introduction includes apps/vscode/**, its workspace/lockfile wiring, and .vscode/launch.json.
  • Shared deployment classification remains in fork/changes because it routes every component.
  • Host-specific builds, VSIX fleet installation, service restarts, credentials, and artifact publication remain private in aaaomega/ops; they consume the composed and tested integration SHA and do not belong in public client overlays.

What commit 4 prepares

  • machine-readable path ownership for desktop links, Discord, and VS Code
  • pnpm fork:overlay-owner <paths...> target-selection helper
  • agent instructions to check overlay ownership before targeting fork/changes
  • documented mixed shared/client changes and product/ops delivery boundaries

Discord and VS Code use pullRequest: null during this rehearsal. After approval, the cutover will create real draft overlay PRs, register their PR numbers in both ownership and .github/pr-stack.json, and land only the removal/policy changes in fork/changes.

Verification

  • final client sources, client-specific documentation/settings, and lockfile are byte-identical to current fork/changes
  • ownership helper tests passed before this documentation-only boundary clarification
  • exactly four commits above fork/changes

Cutover completed through #75, #76, and #81. Durable managed overlays are now #80 (Discord) and #79 (VS Code); fork/integration reconstructs the approved client trees exactly.
