I think this is stylistic rather than a typo - in casual "open punctuation" writing it is okay to say "etc" and in formal "closed punctuation" writing you would prefer "etc.". Given that this whole document starts with an informal "tl;dr" I think the currently written "etc" with no period is acceptable. e.g. point 8 on http://www.wikihow.com/Use-%22Etc.%22-Correctly |
