Cache service brownout April 1st caused 422 errors

We have encountered 422 errors during the cache service brownout advertised here https://github.blog/changelog/2025-01-15-github-actions-ubuntu-20-runner-image-brownout-dates-and-other-breaking-changes/#actions-cache-v1-v2-and-actions-toolkit-cache-package-closing-down

Can't share in an issue as it requires a public workflow run URL, but ours is private.

It means that when they complete the migration, our bundler cache is going to go INOP it seems. We are using ruby/setup-ruby@v1 as recommended.

Is there any update that is needed to the action for bundler caching to make it compatible with the next version of the GH caching service?

It looks like our runners - both the host OS and the runner image - were pinned to ubuntu 20. That meant that we would not get auto-updated ruby-setup until today in the morning:

Error: The current runner (ubuntu-20.04-x64) was detected as self-hosted because the platform does not match a GitHub-hosted runner image (or that image is deprecated and no longer supported).

We have now updated both the GH runner base OS and the host OS to 22 and it looks like everything is in order. It's just that it was not obvious to us until today (when all of our CI stopped with this message)
