OSX Settings, Applications and Configurations

Menu and Checklist installs are WIP.

The install.sh script can install the following:

Commandline Apps

Settings Changed

  • Keyboard Repeat Rate High
  • Animations turned off
  • Turned off fast user switching
  • Set default shell to zsh
  • Natural mouse scroll turned off
  • Right click on trackpad bottom right
  • Turned off "shake to locate cursor"
  • Default Shell set to zsh
  • Terminal.app set to Homebrew theme
  • Hostname set everywhere
  • Ability to press and hold keyboard keys turned back on
  • Screensaver password prompt now pops up immediately
  • Application run prompts disabled (commented out for security)
  • Printer app now quits after print jobs
  • Display battery percentage instead of time remaining
  • Allow tab wherever possible
  • Re-enabled zoom-scrolling (hold ctrl)
  • Disabled auto-correct
  • Force-enabled HiDPI display modes
  • Set default finder view to "details"
  • Grouped Expose apps once more
  • Expose and Mission Control animations sped up
  • Animations that can be turned off have been disabled
  • Dashboard disabled
  • Enabled display of volume icons on the desktop again
  • Turned off smart-quotes (interferes with code snippets)
  • Set default sorting of Activity Monitor to CPU usage
  • Set system to restart on freeze/hang
  • Unhide the ~/Library folder
  • Set Safari homepage to blank
  • Set keyboard repeat delay to the lowest value
  • Turn off iTunes device backup prompts

OSX Settings, Applications and Configurations
Menu and Checklist installs are WIP.
The install.sh script can install the following:
Commandline Apps
Settings Changed
  • Keyboard Repeat Rate High
  • Animations turned off
  • Turned off fast user switching
  • Set default shell to zsh
  • Natural mouse scroll turned off
  • Right click on trackpad bottom right
  • Turned off "shake to locate cursor"
  • Default Shell set to zsh
  • Terminal.app set to Homebrew theme
  • Hostname set everywhere
  • Ability to press and hold keyboard keys turned back on
  • Screensaver password prompt now pops up immediately
  • Application run prompts disabled (commented out for security)
  • Printer app now quits after print jobs
  • Display battery percentage instead of time remaining
  • Allow tab wherever possible
  • Re-enabled zoom-scrolling (hold ctrl)
  • Disabled auto-correct
  • Force-enabled HiDPI display modes
  • Set default finder view to "details"
  • Grouped Expose apps once more
  • Expose and Mission Control animations sped up
  • Animations that can be turned off have been disabled
  • Dashboard disabled
  • Enabled display of volume icons on the desktop again
  • Turned off smart-quotes (interferes with code snippets)
