⛔ DO NOT MERGE — personal-fork V1

This is the selected-reply feature stack, based independently on personal/v1-efficiency-base.

Problem

Assistant responses can contain several independent points, but T3 only lets the user write one unanchored follow-up. It is awkward to answer each point precisely.

Change

Selecting text inside one assistant message now shows a small Reply action. Activating it appends that excerpt to the existing composer as a Markdown quote. Multiple excerpts remain separated, existing draft text is preserved, keyboard selection is supported, and the action stays available if the composer is temporarily busy.

This V1 is web/desktop only. Native mobile selection is currently iOS-specific and is intentionally not expanded in this focused stack.

Validation

  • vp test run apps/web/src/messageReply.test.ts apps/web/src/components/chat/MessagesTimeline.test.tsx — 25 passed
  • vp run --filter @t3tools/web typecheck
  • Targeted lint on the five changed files
  • Hands-on T3 web-client pass with a real Codex response: user selection excluded; assistant selection shown; multiple excerpts inserted; keyboard-style selection updates; selection and action clear correctly; scrolling dismisses the action

Built by GPT-5.6 Sol in the Codex harness through T3 Code.
