Summary

Fixed the NegativeArraySizeException that occurs when clicking the 'negative_index' button in MainActivity.

Root Cause

The bug was caused by a hardcoded negative array size at line 61 in MainActivity.java:

int[] a = newint[-5];

Fix

Changed the array size from -5 to 5:

int[] a = newint[5];

The negative sign was a typo that caused Java to throw a NegativeArraySizeException when attempting to allocate an array with a negative size.

Testing

  • The app should no longer crash when the 'negative_index' button is clicked
  • The array is now allocated with the correct positive size of 5

Summary
Fixed the NegativeArraySizeException that occurs when clicking the 'negative_index' button in MainActivity.
Root Cause
The bug was caused by a hardcoded negative array size at line 61 in MainActivity.java:
int[] a = newint[-5];
Fix
Changed the array size from -5 to 5:
int[] a = newint[5];
The negative sign was a typo that caused Java to throw a NegativeArraySizeException when attempting to allocate an array with a negative size.
Testing
  • The app should no longer crash when the 'negative_index' button is clicked
  • The array is now allocated with the correct positive size of 5
