Curated GitHub Pages template catalog for the ShaneBrain ecosystem. Built with just-the-docs as a remote theme — no local build required, everything compiles on GitHub Pages.

Structure

• _config.yml — site config, remote theme declaration

• docs/ — category pages (AI docs, landing pages, SaaS, author, utility)

Category cheat-sheet — which one do I need?

Pick the category that matches what you're building, then open the matching page in docs/ for the full list.

📚 AI Docs & Curriculum (docs/ai-docs.md)

Primarily good at: structured, multi-page content with sidebar navigation and built-in search. Reach for when you need: a curriculum site, product documentation, a knowledge base, or anything with nested sections (e.g. 5 phases × 36 modules). Authoring is markdown-only. Not for: single-page marketing sites or product dashboards.

🎯 Landing Pages (docs/landing-pages.md)

Primarily good at: fast, polished single-page brand sites — hero, features, CTA, footer. Reach for when you need: a brand homepage (ShaneBrain, TheBardChat, TheirNameBrain), a solo-operator identity page, a product pitch, or a coming-soon page. Swap the logo, refresh the copy, ship. Not for: content-heavy docs or anything that needs user accounts.

💰 SaaS & Product (docs/saas-product.md)

Primarily good at: full product sites with auth, dashboards, database, and payments wired up. Reach for when you need: to actually charge customers (Pedal to the Metal), ship a logged-in app shell, or start with a working marketing + dashboard combo out of the box. Not for: a simple landing page — this is heavier than you need if there's no product behind it.

📖 Author & Book (docs/author-book.md)

Primarily good at: long-form writing, publication lists, author bio, and blog-style content. Reach for when you need: a book hub, author site, persona site (Nomad, Black Crab Park), or a writing-focused blog with clean typography. Not for: product pitches or curriculum docs — use Landing or AI Docs instead.

🧰 Utility Templates (docs/utility.md)

Primarily good at: reference snippets, deploy workflows, and frameworks rather than full site templates. Reach for when you need: a GitHub Actions recipe for custom Pages deploys, a framework to start from scratch (Astro), or to study how a big docs site is structured (github/docs). Not for: clicking "fork" and having a site — most entries here are building blocks, not ready-to-ship sites.

1. Need docs with a sidebar? → AI Docs & Curriculum
2. Need one page that sells something? → Landing Pages
3. Need accounts, Stripe, dashboards? → SaaS & Product
4. Need to publish writing long-term? → Author & Book
5. Need a snippet, action, or framework? → Utility Templates

To add a new template

1. Open the category file in docs/
2. Add a new entry following the existing pattern
3. Commit and push — Pages rebuilds automatically in ~60 seconds
