2 compilation fixes and an optional IRQ / GPIO extension patch

Remove a stray character and add a missing header.
The GPIO IRQ is requested as a managed resource during probing,
therefore there's no need to explicitly release it during driver
unbinding.
Signed-off-by: Guennadi Liakhovetski <guennadi.liakhovetski@intel.com>
Checking for the IRQ GPIO level once an IRQ has been triggered
shouldn't be necessary, once an IRQ has been triggered, so this might
end up being superfluous.

The SOF DT doesn't compile yet, it's only provided as an example,
disable it for now to prevent automated builds from failing.

This reverts commit 41b8f5d and

The patch "sof: fix compilation on non X86 platforms" was wrong, it will be replaced with a different one.

In this scenario path lookup under RCU is racing with the final
unlink in case of symlinks. As Linus puts it in his analysis:
[...] We actually RCU-delay the inode freeing itself, but
when we do the final iput(), the "evict()" function is called
synchronously. Now, the simple fix would seem to just RCU-delay
the kfree() of the symlink data in bpf_evict_inode(). Maybe
that's the right thing to do. [...]
Al suggested to piggy-back on the ->destroy_inode() callback in
order to implement RCU deferral there which can then kfree() the
inode->i_link eventually right before putting inode back into
inode cache. By reusing free_inode_nonrcu() from there we can
avoid the need for our own inode cache and just reuse generic
one as we currently do.
And in-fact on top of all this we should just get rid of the
bpf_evict_inode() entirely. This means truncate_inode_pages_final()
and clear_inode() will then simply be called by the fs core via
evict(). Dropping the reference should really only be done when
inode is unhashed and nothing reachable anymore, so it's better
also moved into the final ->destroy_inode() callback.

Ran into a use-after-free on the main io-wq struct, wq. It has a worker
ref and completion event, but the manager itself isn't holding a
reference. This can lead to a race where the manager thinks there are
no workers and exits, but a worker is being added. That leads to the
following trace:

Billy Jheng Bing-Jhong reported a race between __unix_gc() and
queue_oob().
__unix_gc() tries to garbage-collect close()d inflight sockets,
and then if the socket has MSG_OOB in unix_sk(sk)->oob_skb, GC
will drop the reference and set NULL to it locklessly.
However, the peer socket still can send MSG_OOB message and
queue_oob() can update unix_sk(sk)->oob_skb concurrently, leading
NULL pointer dereference. [0]
To fix the issue, let's update unix_sk(sk)->oob_skb under the
sk_receive_queue's lock and take it everywhere we touch oob_skb.
Note that we defer kfree_skb() in manage_oob() to silence lockdep
false-positive (See [1]).

HCA CAP structure is allocated in mlx5_hca_caps_alloc().
mlx5_mdev_init()
mlx5_hca_caps_alloc()
And HCA CAP is read from the device in mlx5_init_one().
The vhca_id's debugfs file is published even before above two
operations are done.
Due to this when user reads the vhca id before the initialization,
following call trace is observed.
Fix this by deferring debugfs publication until the HCA CAP is
allocated and read from the device.

…ng drm_dev_unplug
When trying to do a rather aggressive test of igt's "xe_module_load
--r reload" with a full desktop environment and game running I noticed
a few OOPSes when dereferencing freed pointers, related to
framebuffers and property blobs after the compositor exits.
Solve this by guarding the freeing in drm_file with drm_dev_enter/exit,
and immediately put the references from struct drm_file objects during
drm_dev_unplug().
Related warnings for framebuffers on the subtest:

blkg_free() can currently be called in atomic context, either spin lock is
held, or run in rcu callback. Meantime either request queue's release
handler or ->pd_free_fn can sleep.
Fix the issue by scheduling a work function for freeing blkcg_gq the
instance.

When a new request is allocated, the refcount will be zero if it is
reused, but if the request is newly allocated from slab, it is not fully
initialized before being added to idr.
If the p9_read_work got a response before the refcount initiated. It will
use a uninitialized req, which will result in a bad request data struct.
Here is the logs from syzbot.

thesofproject#110/6 kprobe_multi_test/attach_api_syms:FAIL
thesofproject#110 kprobe_multi_test:FAIL
For example, for thesofproject#13/2, the error messages are:
[...]
kprobe_multi_test_run:FAIL:kprobe_test7_result unexpected kprobe_test7_result: actual 0 != expected 1
[...]
kprobe_multi_test_run:FAIL:kretprobe_test7_result unexpected kretprobe_test7_result: actual 0 != expected 1
clang17 does not have this issue.
Further investigation shows that kernel func bpf_fentry_test7(), used in
the above tests, is inlined by the compiler although it is marked as
noinline.
int noinline bpf_fentry_test7(struct bpf_fentry_test_t *arg)
{
return (long)arg;
}
It is known that for simple functions like the above (e.g. just returning
a constant or an input argument), the clang compiler may still do inlining
for a noinline function. Adding 'asm volatile ("")' in the beginning of the
bpf_fentry_test7() can prevent inlining.

oder-chiou pushed a commit to oder-chiou/linux-soundwire that referenced this pull request May 5, 2026
Lockdep complains about possible circular locking dependencies when the
i.MX SDMA driver issues console messages under its spinlock. While the
SDMA driver calls back into the UART when issuing a message, the i.MX
UART driver will never call back into the SDMA driver for this UART,
because DMA is explicitly not used for UARTs providing the console.
To avoid the lockdep warnings put the UART port lock for console devices
into a separate subclass.
This fixes possible deadlock warnings like the following which was
provoked by adding a printk to the i.MX SDMA driver at a place where the
driver holds its spinlock.

HCA CAP structure is allocated in mlx5_hca_caps_alloc().
mlx5_mdev_init()
mlx5_hca_caps_alloc()
And HCA CAP is read from the device in mlx5_init_one().
The vhca_id's debugfs file is published even before above two
operations are done.
Due to this when user reads the vhca id before the initialization,
following call trace is observed.
Fix this by deferring debugfs publication until the HCA CAP is
allocated and read from the device.

naveen-manohar pushed a commit to naveen-manohar/linux that referenced this pull request Aug 13, 2026
…ng drm_dev_unplug
commit 6bee098 upstream.
When trying to do a rather aggressive test of igt's "xe_module_load
--r reload" with a full desktop environment and game running I noticed
a few OOPSes when dereferencing freed pointers, related to
framebuffers and property blobs after the compositor exits.
Solve this by guarding the freeing in drm_file with drm_dev_enter/exit,
and immediately put the references from struct drm_file objects during
drm_dev_unplug().
Related warnings for framebuffers on the subtest:
