Welcome to the PooPyLab_Project wiki!

I thought my code was pretty clear on what the project's purposes, core functions, and its development plan. But two of my closest friends, one of environmental engineering background, and the other computer science, did not agree. So here is the wiki...LoL

PooPyLab is a biological wastewater treatment software that is built upon Activated Sludge Models (ASM 1,2d, & 3) developed by the International Water Association (IWA). Custom-built models will also be supported by the software.

There are commercial softwares like BioWin (EnviroSim), GPS-X (Hydromantis), and others that provide similar core functionalities for wastewater engineers and students. However, their model implementations may be proprietary and hidden from the users. Some other simulation softwares like ASIM is more appropriate for academic studies of the activated sludge models themselves, with less flexibility in generating a full-plant mass balance for engineering design and evaluation of complex treatment plants.

PooPyLab aims to offer a platform for biological wastewater models related applications and integrating computer programming with environmental science/engineering.
