Helldorado — Fix

A drop-in replacement for Helldorado.exe that makes Helldorado (2007) run on modern Windows 10 & 11.

It fixes the "Unable to initialize video mode / Could not set screen mode" error: the game tries to take exclusive fullscreen at a display mode modern GPUs reject. This fix runs it windowed at your screen resolution and stretches it borderless to fill the screen — fullscreen look, no failing mode-switch. Because it is named Helldorado.exe, GOG Galaxy / Steam and your existing shortcuts launch it automatically.

How to install

1. Open your Helldorado game folder (the one containing Helldorado.exe).
2. Rename the original Helldorado.exe to HelldoradoOrig.exe.
3. Download Helldorado.exe from the Releases page and put it in that folder.
   • If a blue Windows box appears when you run it, click More info → Run anyway.
4. Launch the game as usual (GOG/Steam Play button, desktop shortcut, or double-click) — it now opens borderless fullscreen at your resolution.

(To undo: delete the fix's Helldorado.exe and rename HelldoradoOrig.exe back to Helldorado.exe.)
