This is a compatibility fix for v3.

It should fix#1965 - although I haven't tested it directly.

TODO:

  • Add unit tests and/or doctests in docstrings
  • Add docstrings and API docs for any new/modified user-facing classes and functions
  • New/modified features documented in docs/tutorial.rst
  • Changes documented in docs/release.rst
  • GitHub Actions have all passed
  • Test coverage is 100% (Codecov passes)

Is this actually a good fallback? Perhaps worth bringing in guess_chunks from the v2 codebase (in a later PR).

This is a compatibility fix for v3.

It should fix#1965 - although I haven't tested it directly.

TODO:

  • Add unit tests and/or doctests in docstrings
  • Add docstrings and API docs for any new/modified user-facing classes and functions
  • New/modified features documented in docs/tutorial.rst
  • Changes documented in docs/release.rst
  • GitHub Actions have all passed
  • Test coverage is 100% (Codecov passes)

Is this actually a good fallback? Perhaps worth bringing in guess_chunks from the v2 codebase (in a later PR).
