Summary

  • add an English bundled Computer Use Skill tailored to the shipping Maka maka-cu semantic action surface
  • auto-seed the Skill only when a Computer Use backend is available, while preserving user-disabled state and never overwriting modified or untrusted workspace copies
  • atomically upgrade trusted legacy bundled copies and extend catalog coverage for install, idempotency, host compatibility, and upgrade safety
  • align the maka_computer model-facing description with the actions the shipping host can actually execute
  • classify observe without an explicit screenshot request as metadata_read, matching the execution default

Why

Maka exposed Computer Use tools without installing capability-specific operating guidance. Models therefore had to infer activation order, application resolution, launch behavior, screenshot use, partial element_sequence completion, and recovery semantics. Some existing tool copy also described raw key, coordinate, and zoom paths that the shipping maka.cu/2 host refuses or does not implement.

This change makes the Skill part of capability loading, keeps workspace ownership intact, and gives the model one consistent description of the real executor surface.

Validation

  • @maka/core: 776 tests passed
  • @maka/runtime: 3128 tests passed, 9 skipped
  • @maka/desktop: 1634 tests passed
  • focused Computer Use, Skill governance, and filesystem boundary suite: 50 tests passed
  • Core, Runtime, and Desktop typechecks passed
  • Biome check passed on all changed source files
  • git diff --check passed

Summary
  • add an English bundled Computer Use Skill tailored to the shipping Maka maka-cu semantic action surface
  • auto-seed the Skill only when a Computer Use backend is available, while preserving user-disabled state and never overwriting modified or untrusted workspace copies
  • atomically upgrade trusted legacy bundled copies and extend catalog coverage for install, idempotency, host compatibility, and upgrade safety
  • align the maka_computer model-facing description with the actions the shipping host can actually execute
  • classify observe without an explicit screenshot request as metadata_read, matching the execution default
Why
Maka exposed Computer Use tools without installing capability-specific operating guidance. Models therefore had to infer activation order, application resolution, launch behavior, screenshot use, partial element_sequence completion, and recovery semantics. Some existing tool copy also described raw key, coordinate, and zoom paths that the shipping maka.cu/2 host refuses or does not implement.
This change makes the Skill part of capability loading, keeps workspace ownership intact, and gives the model one consistent description of the real executor surface.
Validation
  • @maka/core: 776 tests passed
  • @maka/runtime: 3128 tests passed, 9 skipped
  • @maka/desktop: 1634 tests passed
  • focused Computer Use, Skill governance, and filesystem boundary suite: 50 tests passed
  • Core, Runtime, and Desktop typechecks passed
  • Biome check passed on all changed source files
  • git diff --check passed
