The __asm_copy_to-from_user function will copy extra bytes beyond the
boundary when two conditions hold:
1. (src - dst) & (SZREG-1) == 0
2. 8*SZREG <= size < -src & (SZREG-1) + 8*SZREG
The first condition makes the function enter the unrolled word copy code
path. And the second condition makes the function believe that there is
enough bytes to do one iteration of 8*SZREG byte copy. That is not true
since the available bytes is reduced by -src & (SZREG-1) byte to make
both src and dst aligned to SZREG.
This behavior causes serious issue with exec system call both on RV64
and RV32. The passed-in command line parameters might be changed
silently since they are copied to the new process's stack continuously.

Patch series "lib/string: optimized mem* functions", v2.
Rewrite the generic mem{cpy,move,set} so that memory is accessed with the
widest size possible, but without doing unaligned accesses.
This was originally posted as C string functions for RISC-V[1], but as
there was no specific RISC-V code, it was proposed for the generic
lib/string.c implementation.
Tested on RISC-V and on x86_64 by undefining __HAVE_ARCH_MEM{CPY,SET,MOVE}
and HAVE_EFFICIENT_UNALIGNED_ACCESS.
These are the performances of memcpy() and memset() of a RISC-V machine on
a 32 mbyte buffer:
memcpy:
original aligned: 75 Mb/s
original unaligned: 75 Mb/s
new aligned: 114 Mb/s
new unaligned: 107 Mb/s
memset:
original aligned:	140 Mb/s
original unaligned:	140 Mb/s
new aligned: 241 Mb/s
new unaligned: 241 Mb/s
The size increase is negligible:
$ scripts/bloat-o-meter vmlinux.orig vmlinux
add/remove: 0/0 grow/shrink: 4/1 up/down: 427/-6 (421)
Function old new delta
memcpy 29 351 +322
memset 29 117 +88
strlcat 68 78 +10
strlcpy 50 57 +7
memmove 56 50 -6
Total: Before=8556964, After=8557385, chg +0.00%
These functions will be used for RISC-V initially.

This patch (of 3):
Rewrite the generic memcpy() to copy a word at time, without generating
unaligned accesses.
The procedure is made of three steps: First copy data one byte at time
until the destination buffer is aligned to a long boundary. Then copy the
data one long at time shifting the current and the next long to compose a
long at every cycle. Finally, copy the remainder one byte at time.
This is the improvement on RISC-V:
original aligned: 75 Mb/s
original unaligned: 75 Mb/s
new aligned: 114 Mb/s
new unaligned: 107 Mb/s
and this the binary size increase according to bloat-o-meter:

When the destination buffer is before the source one, or when the buffers
doesn't overlap, it's safe to use memcpy() instead, which is optimized to
use a bigger data size possible.
This "optimization" only covers a common case. In future, proper code
which does the same thing as memcpy() does but backwards can be done.

The generic memset is defined as a byte at time write. This is always
safe, but it's slower than a 4 byte or even 8 byte write.
Write a generic memset which fills the data one byte at time until the
destination is aligned, then fills using the largest size allowed, and
finally fills the remaining data one byte at time.
On a RISC-V machine the speed goes from 140 Mb/s to 241 Mb/s, and this the
binary size increase according to bloat-o-meter:
Function old new delta
memset 32 148 +116

Add a preliminary driver for the StarFive JH7100 Clock Generator,
based on work by Ahmad Fatoum for Barebox.
Functional differences compared to the Barebox driver:
- Addition of starfive_clk_pll_mult(), to make the PLL outputs
reasonable,
- Add temporary overrides for critical clocks (uart, i2c, spi) until
we get the clock tree right, so we don't have to keep dummy clocks
like uartclk and hs_uartclk in the DTS.
This driver sets clk_ignore_unused, else the system locks up when all
clocks deemed unused are disabled.
To be updated when the documentation becomes available.

The BeagleV Starlight v0.9 board[1] doesn't have the IRQB line routed to

for the other functionality it provides such as GPIOs and regulator
settings.

The only way to reset the BeagleV Starlight v0.9 board[1] properly is to
tell the PMIC to reset itself which will then assert the external reset
lines of the SoC, USB hub and ethernet phy.
This adds a driver to register a reset handler to do just that.

When the dwc2 platform device is removed, it unregisters the generic
phy. usb_remove_phy() is called and the dwc2 usb_phy is removed from the
"phy_list", but the uevent may still attempt to get the usb_phy from the
list, resulting in a page fault bug. Currently we can't access the usb_phy
from the "phy_list" after the device is removed. As a fix check to make
sure that we can get the usb_phy before moving forward with the uevent.

[ Upstream commit e4a41c2 ]
The following error is reported when running "./test_progs -t for_each"
under arm64:
bpf_jit: multi-func JIT bug 58 != 56
[...]
JIT doesn't support bpf-to-bpf calls
The root cause is the size of BPF_PSEUDO_FUNC instruction increases
from 2 to 3 after the address of called bpf-function is settled and
there are two bpf-to-bpf calls in test_pkt_access. The generated
instructions are shown below:
0x48: 21 00 C0 D2 movz x1, #0x1, lsl #32
0x4c: 21 00 80 F2 movk x1, #0x1
0x48: E1 3F C0 92 movn x1, #0x1ff, lsl #32
0x4c: 41 FE A2 F2 movk x1, #0x17f2, lsl #16
0x50: 81 70 9F F2 movk x1, #0xfb84
Fixing it by using emit_addr_mov_i64() for BPF_PSEUDO_FUNC, so
the size of jited image will not change.

It can be seen from the stack trace that the problem is that the
deregistration of the master causes a dev_close(), which gets notified
as NETDEV_GOING_DOWN to dsa_slave_netdevice_event().
But dsa_switch_shutdown() has already run, and this has unregistered the
DSA slave interfaces, and yet, the NETDEV_GOING_DOWN handler attempts to
call dev_close_many() on those slave interfaces, leading to the problem.
The previous attempt to avoid the NETDEV_GOING_DOWN on the master after
dsa_switch_shutdown() was called seems improper. Unregistering the slave
interfaces is unnecessary and unhelpful. Instead, after the slaves have
stopped being uppers of the DSA master, we can now reset to NULL the
master->dsa_ptr pointer, which will make DSA start ignoring all future
notifier events on the master.

With BPF_PROBE_MEM, BPF allows de-referencing an untrusted pointer. To
thwart invalid memory accesses, the JITs add an exception table entry
for all such accesses. But in case the src_reg + offset is a userspace
address, the BPF program might read that memory if the user has
mapped it.
Make the verifier add guard instructions around such memory accesses and
skip the load if the address falls into the userspace region.
The JITs need to implement bpf_arch_uaddress_limit() to define where
the userspace addresses end for that architecture or TASK_SIZE is taken
as default.
The implementation is as follows:
REG_AX = SRC_REG
if(offset)
REG_AX += offset;
REG_AX >>= 32;
if (REG_AX <= (uaddress_limit >> 32))
DST_REG = 0;
else
DST_REG = *(size *)(SRC_REG + offset);
Comparing just the upper 32 bits of the load address with the upper
32 bits of uaddress_limit implies that the values are being aligned down
to a 4GB boundary before comparison.
The above means that all loads with address <= uaddress_limit + 4GB are
skipped. This is acceptable because there is a large hole (much larger
than 4GB) between userspace and kernel space memory, therefore a
correctly functioning BPF program should not access this 4GB memory
above the userspace.
Let's analyze what this patch does to the following fentry program
dereferencing an untrusted pointer:
SEC("fentry/tcp_v4_connect")
int BPF_PROG(fentry_tcp_v4_connect, struct sock *sk)
{
*(volatile long *)sk;
return 0;
}
BPF Program before | BPF Program after
------------------ | -----------------
0: (79) r1 = *(u64 *)(r1 +0) 0: (79) r1 = *(u64 *)(r1 +0)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1: (79) r1 = *(u64 *)(r1 +0) --\ 1: (bf) r11 = r1
----------------------------\ \ 2: (77) r11 >>= 32
2: (b7) r0 = 0 \ \ 3: (b5) if r11 <= 0x8000 goto pc+2
3: (95) exit \ \-> 4: (79) r1 = *(u64 *)(r1 +0)
\ 5: (05) goto pc+1
\ 6: (b7) r1 = 0
\--------------------------------------
7: (b7) r0 = 0
8: (95) exit
As you can see from above, in the best case (off=0), 5 extra instructions
are emitted.
Now, we analyze the same program after it has gone through the JITs of
ARM64 and RISC-V architectures. We follow the single load instruction
that has the untrusted pointer and see what instrumentation has been
added around it.

During the migration of Soundwire runtime stream allocation from
the Qualcomm Soundwire controller to SoC's soundcard drivers the sdm845
soundcard was forgotten.
At this point any playback attempt or audio daemon startup, for instance
on sdm845-db845c (Qualcomm RB3 board), will result in stream pointer

^^^
This is 0x6108 + offset 0x44 from the beginning of sdw_stream_add_slave()
where data abort happens.
wsa881x_hw_params() is called with stream = NULL and passes it further
in register x4 (5th argument) to sdw_stream_add_slave() without any checks.
Value from x4 is copied to x25 and finally it aborts on trying to load
a value from address in x25 plus offset 32 (in dec) which corresponds
to master_list member in struct sdw_stream_runtime:
struct sdw_stream_runtime {
const char * name;	/* 0 8 */
struct sdw_stream_params params;	/* 8 12 */
enum sdw_stream_state state;	/* 20 4 */
enum sdw_stream_type type;	/* 24 4 */
/* XXX 4 bytes hole, try to pack */
here-> struct list_head master_list;	/* 32 16 */
int m_rt_count;	/* 48 4 */
/* size: 56, cachelines: 1, members: 6 */
/* sum members: 48, holes: 1, sum holes: 4 */
/* padding: 4 */
/* last cacheline: 56 bytes */
Fix this by adding required calls to qcom_snd_sdw_startup() and
sdw_release_stream() to startup and shutdown routines which restores
the previous correct behaviour when ->set_stream() method is called to
set a valid stream runtime pointer on playback startup.
Reproduced and then fix was tested on db845c RB3 board.

When qstats-get operation is executed, callbacks of netdev_stats_ops
are called. The bnxt_get_queue_stats{rx | tx} collect per-queue stats
from sw_stats in the rings.
But {rx | tx | cp}_ring are allocated when the interface is up.
So, these rings are not allocated when the interface is down.
The qstats-get is allowed even if the interface is down. However,
the bnxt_get_queue_stats{rx | tx}() accesses cp_ring and tx_ring
without null check.
So, it needs to avoid accessing rings if the interface is down.
Reproducer:
ip link set $interface down
./cli.py --spec netdev.yaml --dump qstats-get
OR
ip link set $interface down
python ./stats.py
