@AlexWaygood, looking at the CI failure, I don't think it's worth the effort to fix it and I'll probably just close this backport. |

Sounds good to me. I think I might have made some typing fixes to 3.13+ when upgrading mypy in the past that I never backported this far back, so I'm probably to blame here 😶 |
