User mode lib calls info function in kcontrol to get the channel number of
volume mixer. The default info function is snd_soc_info_volsw which only
supports max two channels. Just like get/put function, info function is
bound to a bespoke info function in SOF and return correct channel number
to user.

The snd_sof_volume_info is based on snd_soc_info_volsw, and refines the
channel setting. Using standard SND_SOC_TPLG_CTL_VOLSW to register our
kcontrol function because only it supports binding all kcontrol functions to bespoke
ones. And this change doesn't affect the volume mixer which is not created by
topology and doesn't affect the topology released

Cant do this string checking, best to have separate info() calls for volume and switch

Yes, I will refine it. And I also checked the Asoc, the info function would be bound only for volume case

Refine my patch. The detail of this change is discussing in thesofproject/soft#34
for short, I add SND_SOC_TPLG_CTL_VOLSW to bind get & put & info function to some bespoke ones. The info function can't be bound to a bespoke one with SOF_TPLG_KCTL_VOL_ID.

synchronize_rcu() is fine when the rcu callbacks only need
to free memory (kfree_rcu() or direct kfree() call rcu call backs)
__dev_map_entry_free() is a bit more complex, so we need to make
sure that call queued __dev_map_entry_free() callbacks have completed.

When an LE connection is requested and an RPA update is needed via
hci_connect_le_scan, the default scanning parameters are used rather
than the connect parameters. This leads to significant delays in the
connection establishment process when using lower duty cycle scanning
parameters.
The patch simply looks at the pended connection list when trying to
determine which scanning parameters should be used.

The tasklet software interrupt takes too much time. Therefore, the
xfrm_trans_reinject executor is changed from tasklet to workqueue. Add add
spin lock to protect the queue. This reduces the processing flow of the
tcp_sendmsg function in this scenario.

Both the function that migrates all the chunks within a region and the
function that migrates all the entries within a chunk call
list_first_entry() on the respective lists without checking that the
lists are not empty. This is incorrect usage of the API, which leads to
the following warning [1].
Fix by returning if the lists are empty as there is nothing to migrate
in this case.

commit 1ba0403 ("block, bfq: fix uaf for accessing waker_bfqq after
splitting") fix the problem that if waker_bfqq is in the merge chain,
and current is the only procress, waker_bfqq can be freed from
bfq_split_bfqq(). However, the case that waker_bfqq is not in the merge
chain is missed, and if the procress reference of waker_bfqq is 0,
waker_bfqq can be freed as well.
Fix the problem by checking procress reference if waker_bfqq is not in
the merge_chain.

Notably, invoking the mog_init_rings() callback upon link establishment
is unnecessary. Instead, we can exclusively call mog_init_rings() within
the ndo_open() callback. This adjustment resolves the deadlock issue.
Furthermore, since MACB_CAPS_MACB_IS_EMAC cases do not use mog_init_rings()
when opening the network interface via at91ether_open(), moving
mog_init_rings() to macb_open() also eliminates the MACB_CAPS_MACB_IS_EMAC
check.

The tasklet software interrupt takes too much time. Therefore, the
xfrm_trans_reinject executor is changed from tasklet to workqueue. Add add
spin lock to protect the queue. This reduces the processing flow of the
tcp_sendmsg function in this scenario.

Lockdep reports the below circular locking dependency issue. The
mmap_lock acquisition while holding pci_bus_sem is due to the use of
copy_to_user() from within a pci_walk_bus() callback.
Building the devices array directly into the user buffer is only for
convenience. Instead we can allocate a local buffer for the array,
bounded by the number of devices on the bus/slot, fill the device
information into this local buffer, then copy it into the user buffer
outside the bus walk callback.

The warning in question is from drv_stop():

The sequence of WARN_ON() is:
Thread 1:
-Firmware crash calls ath12k_core_reset().
-Call ieee80211_restart_hw() inside
ath12k_core_post_reconfigure_recovery() which schedules worker
for both hardware.
-Wait for completion of ab->recovery_start.
Thread 2 (worker thread):
-One hardware acquires rtnl_lock() inside ieee80211_restart_hw() and
calls ath12k_mac_wait_reconfigure() into ath12k_mac_op_start().
-Hardware is waiting for ab->reconfigure_complete but at this time
recovery_start_count value is 1 because another worker thread
(local->restart_work) is still waiting for rtnl_lock().
recovery_start_count is not equal to number of radios
(2 in split-phy). So ab->recovery_start complete does not set
due to this, thread 1 is still waiting and not able to perform
hif power down up and firmware reload.
-Wait timeout happens for ab->reconfigure_complete and comeback
to caller (ath12k_mac_op_start()) and sends WMI command to
crashed firmware and gets error.
-This returns error to drv_start() and local->started is set to false.
-Hardware calls cfg80211_shutdown_all_interfaces() after receiving error
inside ieee80211_restart_work() and goes to drv_stop(), here we trigger
WARN_ON as local->started is false.
To fix this issue call ieee80211_restart_hw() after firmware has been
reloaded. Now, each hardware can send WMI command to firmware
successfully. With this fix we don't need to wait for
ab->recovery_start completion so remove
ath12k_mac_wait_reconfigure().

For geometry jobs with a paired fragment job, at the moment, the
DRM scheduler's prepare_job() callback:
- checks for internal (driver) dependencies for the geometry job;
- calls into pvr_queue_get_paired_frag_job_dep() to check for external
dependencies for the fragment job (the two jobs are submitted together
but the common scheduler code doesn't know about it, so this needs to
be done at this point in time);
- calls into the prepare_job() callback again, but for the fragment job,
to check its internal dependencies as well, passing the fragment job's
drm_sched_job and the geometry job's drm_sched_entity / pvr_queue.
The problem with the last step is that pvr_queue_prepare_job() doesn't
always take the mismatched fragment job and geometry queue into account,
in particular when checking whether there is space for the fragment
command to be submitted, so the code ends up checking for space in the
geometry (i.e. wrong) CCCB.
The rest of the nested prepare_job() callback happens to work fine at
the moment as the other internal dependencies are not relevant for a
paired fragment job.
Move the initialisation of a paired fragment job's done fence and CCCB
fence to pvr_queue_get_paired_frag_job_dep(), inferring the correct
queue from the fragment job itself.
This fixes cases where prepare_job() wrongly assumed that there was
enough space for a paired fragment job in its own CCCB, unblocking
run_job(), which then returned early without writing the full sequence
of commands to the CCCB.
The above lead to kernel warnings such as the following and potentially
job timeouts (depending on waiters on the missing commands):

Notably, invoking the mog_init_rings() callback upon link establishment
is unnecessary. Instead, we can exclusively call mog_init_rings() within
the ndo_open() callback. This adjustment resolves the deadlock issue.
Furthermore, since MACB_CAPS_MACB_IS_EMAC cases do not use mog_init_rings()
when opening the network interface via at91ether_open(), moving
mog_init_rings() to macb_open() also eliminates the MACB_CAPS_MACB_IS_EMAC
check.
