Problem

The pre-commit hook sends every staged path to vp fmt, but Oxfmt intentionally ignores files such as pnpm-lock.yaml and patch files. When a commit contains only ignored files, the formatter sees zero matches and fails the commit even though there is nothing to format.

Fix

Pass Oxfmtʼs supported --no-error-on-unmatched-pattern option from the Vite staged config. Supported source files are still formatted, while ignored-only commits become a successful no-op.

Verification

  • vp fmt vite.config.ts --check
  • vp staged --verbose formatted the staged Vite config normally
  • vp staged --diff origin/main...79e063e67 --no-stash --verbose ran against the exact patch/lockfile-only diff from fix(mobile): keep iOS home header stable #8467 and succeeded with zero matching files
  • the commit completed through the updated pre-commit hook without bypass flags
  • git diff --cached --check

Generated with GPT-5.6 Sol in T3 Code through the Codex harness.

Note

Low Risk
Single-line change to pre-commit formatting behavior with no runtime, auth, or data impact.

Overview
Updates the pre-commit staged formatter in vite.config.ts so vp fmt is invoked with --no-error-on-unmatched-pattern.

When a commit stages only paths that Oxfmt ignores (e.g. pnpm-lock.yaml), the hook no longer fails for “no matching files”; commits that include formattable sources still run the formatter as before.

Reviewed by Cursor Bugbot for commit ed6c1bd. Bugbot is set up for automated code reviews on this repo. Configure here.

Note

Add --no-error-on-unmatched-pattern to staged vp fmt command

Updates the staged task in vite.config.ts so the formatter does not error when the glob pattern matches no files. This lets staged changes consisting only of ignored files pass without a false failure.

netpro2k added a commit to netpro2k/t3code that referenced this pull request Aug 29, 2026
Intent:
Make this fork explicitly maintainable as a linear stack of small, durable patches on top of upstream while providing repeatable local distribution paths for the macOS desktop app and Linux server/AppImage install.
Behavior:
- Require fork-owned commits to use the [PATCH] subject prefix and durable intent, behavior, design, integration, verification, and rebase context.
- Provide one repository-local skill for authoring and semantically rebasing the stack, including supersession audits, focused checks, a recovery branch, and a range-diff review.
- Expose the project skill tree to Grok through .grok/skills.
- Build and install the ARM64 macOS desktop app plus a fork-specific LaunchAgent serving this checkout through Tailscale Serve on port 8443.
- Build and atomically install the Linux AppImage, desktop launcher, CLI shim, and systemd user service only after a successful checkout/server build.
- Install a user-local ~/.local/bin/t3 symlink from both update scripts so direct and SSH CLI discovery uses this checkout.
Design constraints:
- Minimize future conflict surface and keep one complete behavior per patch.
- Treat patch-id equivalence as a signal, not proof; drop patches only after semantic parity checks.
- Do not push rewritten history or delete recovery branches without explicit authorization.
- Derive package versions from the nearest non-nightly release tag and restore manifests after builds.
- Preserve the exact-DMG cleanup/private mount behavior on macOS and build-before-restart, clean-checkout, data-preserving, stable-unit, atomic AppImage behavior on Linux.
- Keep Tailscale Serve on the existing HTTPS port 8443 and let the server own remapping to its listener.
- Keep the macOS agent on the checkout server with the com.netpro2k.t3code.server label and descriptively named unsigned launcher.
- Keep the fork CLI user-owned at ~/.local/bin/t3 and do not copy the server bundle away from the checkout.
Integration:
- Repository skill and UI metadata under .agents/skills, README fork guidance, and the .grok/skills symlink.
- Fork-local macOS and Linux update scripts under scripts/.
Verification:
- The skill passed its quick validator and the symlink is stored as mode 120000.
- bash -n and diff checks passed for both update scripts.
- Isolated launcher and CLI-shim tests passed; the release-version helper passed its focused suite.
- The generated ARM64 DMG mounted privately and detached cleanly.
- The Linux updater preserved ~/.t3, installed successfully, and returned an active service with Tailscale Serve pointing at the current server origin.
Rebase notes:
- The README notice may conflict when upstream edits its introduction; retain the notice while adopting upstream copy.
- Reconcile repository safety rules into the skill while preserving semantic supersession checks, backup-before-rewrite, focused verification, and the explicit push boundary.
- Preserve installer version derivation/restoration and host-safety behavior if upstream changes artifact names, build commands, or service layout.
- Upstream v0.0.36 superseded this patch's staged-hook formatter flag through pingdotgg#8468; the fork no longer carries that hunk.

Macroscope summarized ed6c1bd.

netpro2k added a commit to netpro2k/t3code that referenced this pull request Aug 29, 2026

Macroscope summarized ed6c1bd.

netpro2k added a commit to netpro2k/t3code that referenced this pull request Aug 29, 2026

Macroscope summarized ed6c1bd.

netpro2k added a commit to netpro2k/t3code that referenced this pull request Aug 29, 2026

Macroscope summarized ed6c1bd.

netpro2k added a commit to netpro2k/t3code that referenced this pull request Aug 29, 2026

Recent scheduled nightlies have been delayed or skipped.
Move the nightly cron from minute 7 to minute 38. Keep the existing three-hour interval. This tests a different point in each three-hour window without claiming it will fix GitHub schedule delivery.

netpro2k added a commit to netpro2k/t3code that referenced this pull request Aug 29, 2026
